Starting in the summer of 2013 we moved into our own space on Edgewood Avenue in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Jacksonville and starting selling wholesale and at farmers markets. We quickly started a garden out back, where we began hosting pizza nights and farm to table dinners. In the spring of 2014 we opened up our storefront, where we expanded our selection to include whole grain pastries, fresh brewed coffee, tea and sandwiches.

Down To Earth is an organic vegetable farm on the Westside of Jacksonville run by Brian and Kristen Lapinski. They offer a weekly vegetable box that includes a seasonal variety of produce grown on their small farm, and is available as either a half ($15/week) or full ($30/week) size. These produce boxes are available by "subscribing" to a farming season. This is referred to as a "CSA", or Community Supported Agriculture.

 

By subscribing to a season you guarantee that the farmer will be supported, regardless of small crop failures or lackluster markets. It gives the farmer the flexibility of providing us with whatever is in season and in turn encourages us to eat seasonal, fresh, and organic produce.

 

We use their produce whenever possible because they care for the land and people they work with and we are proud to call them our friends. They will be delivering the CSA boxes to the shop every Wednesday, and subscribers will be able to pick up their box anytime from 10am til 8pm.
